We’re proud that 2025 marks the 10th birthday of EE Renewables as a provider of solar and green energy systems across the south and beyond.
When our Hampshire company was first founded as a specialist in home solar panels back in 2015, Bruno Mars was at number one in the charts with Uptown Funk, and Queen Elizabeth had just become the longest-reigning monarch in British history.
A lot has changed since then.
Over the past 10 years, we’ve grown from a solar-only energy provider into a complete home renewable energy installer – offering Air Source Heat Pumps, battery storage, and EV charging alongside our renowned solar systems.
But one thing that hasn’t changed is our commitment to providing high quality installations with friendly, personal, expert service. As a family-run, independent business, we’re committed to helping homeowners harness the power of renewable technologies to cut their energy bills and lead the way to a cleaner, greener future.
We’ve recently marked another milestone – marking five years as a NICEIC-registered installer, which is the benchmark for excellence in the electrical industry, recognising our commitment to meeting the highest possible standards.
This award sits alongside our many other industry credentials, including MCS Accreditation and our memberships of the Competent Persons Scheme, the Renewable Energy Consumer Code, and TrustMark. Plus we’re consistently rated 4.9/5* on TrustPilot. We’ve had a fantastic decade!
So, what about the next 10 years?
There’s never been a better time to get into renewable energy. Solar panel technology is more efficient than ever – back in 2015, 18.2% efficient solar panels were cutting edge – but today’s home solar installations can reach up to 24% efficiency.
Meanwhile, the technology is more affordable to install than it’s ever been, with solar panel costs plummeting in the last decade by 73%, according to official Government data. And, over time, that investment can pay for itself.
The move to renewable energy shows no signs of slowing down – in fact, it’s gathering pace. The UK’s legally binding commitment to reaching a net zero economy by 2050 means wind and solar will need to provide between 75% and 90% of the UK’s electricity in 2035 – a four-fold increase on current levels.
We’re also seeing a surge in interest in Air Source Heat Pumps, especially thanks to the Government’s Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS), which offers grants of up to £7,500 for qualifying homes. And we’re proud to announce that in 2025, our team achieved MCS accreditation for these systems too – cementing our place as trusted, expert installers.
Rising domestic energy prices – which have tripled since 2001 – are a major reason why more and more people are choosing to go for greener, and choosing EE Renewables as their trusted installer.
